Special Puppies Get Help Moving to a New Home

They aren’t going far but move day is here for some special GEB puppies!  Guiding Eyes for the Blind (GEB) has many locations throughout the United States and a few are in our Hudson Valley backyards.  The caring teams at GEB raise some remarkable puppies that help people live with a variety of disabilities such as blindness and autism.  Recently, some of Clancy’s movers took a break from household moves in NY and CT.  Instead, they were treated to some quality puppy time while assisting office staff with a move to a new building on the same property.  That means the puppies aren’t moving out to new homes just yet but they are getting a comfortable new space to grow and learn.  After all, they have an important job to do when they grow up.

Guiding Eyes for the Blind is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) agency that depends on the support of individuals, corporations, foundations, and civic organizations such as Lions Clubs to fulfill its mission. We receive no government funding, and we provide our renowned Guiding Eyes dogs, plus training and lifetime support, to our blind and visually impaired students at no cost to them. It costs approximately $45,000 to prepare our students and dogs to become a Guiding Eyes team.

Guiding Eyes also provides specially trained dogs to families that have children with autism through its Heeling Autism program.  This program is also provided at no cost to the families.

Your donation, of any size, is important. You can make a contribution today. You can also easily memorialize or pay tribute to an important person in your life by contributing $25 or more. You might also consider naming a future guide dog.  Can’t move with your car? Consider donating your vehicle to Guiding Eyes (even if it’s not running).

“Being here at Guiding Eyes has been nothing less than a positive, kind, encouraging and amazing experience. If something you’re doing can be improved upon, it is always stated in a positive manner. Thank you, Guiding Eyes. You have given me the gift of independence – now I will be able to do so many more things with my life.”
