Holiday schedules can be hectic with all the shopping and parties filling our calendars. It’s a time of year for celebrations and family but it can also be when you need to get moving. Reasons for moving during the holidays include job changes, adjustments to care for senior family members and divorce. Rest assured if you need to move during the holidays you are not alone. The team here at Clancy Relocation & Logistics is prepared to help you every step of the way.
Step 1. Choose your move date.
Please note that Clancy provides moving and storage services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Holiday rates may apply if you need to move on a Sunday or a U.S.-observed federal holiday. Household moving customer service is Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm Eastern Standard Time with few exceptions such as Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
Step 2. Getting your estimate for moving.
Contact us to schedule your free-in home estimate and let us know when your preferred move date is. While a few weeks advance notice is preferred (and essential for long-distance moving), this time of year it is possible to arrange your local move with less notice. The summer moving season is busier.
Step 3. Double check your preferred move date.
This time of year, there are lots of parties and other opportunities to get together with family and friends. So make sure you have not scheduled a move when you might be missing a fun or important gathering. School concerts, office parties, etc. can sometimes come up with short notice.
Step 4. Don’t forget to give your extended family the heads up about your new address!
Be sure to contact family members with your new address by the first week of December so that any invitations, cards or gifts that they may want to send you can be delivered to your new home. You wouldn’t want to miss out on those presents!
